To be made a fool

How do you hand your heart over to another person?

blindly or wide-eyed, either way is dangerous.

. . . . ever so carefully. . . . holding with 2 hands, walking on tip toes.

wildly? freely? carelessly? As if nothing could go wrong.

It isn't till you see the other party laugh cruelly look the other way and toss your heart aside that you realize references weren't really a bad idea after all.

Questioning your ability to trust your partner is a hard thing to come to grips with. What you're willing to put up with, how many excuses you'll go thru before you put an end to the manipulation. Wondering if even allowing for honest mistakes or third parties liars is even allowed.

Then there's the flat out feeling of hurt and betrayal.

When you've finally come to the point where you are ready to drop all others to the wayside and proclaim loud and proud that you're committed full heart to this person. Then to be humiliated and made a fool.

I'm used to seeing the jerks coming a mile away. Not investing my heart in it, knowing he's a temporary fix.

All I ask is that you don't lie to me. No lies. Rule # 1.

what's confusing about that?
